IMPACT PROJECT STRENGTHENS PARTNERSHIP WITH BAYLOR COLLABORATIVE ON HUNGER AND POVERTY

A STRATEGIC CONVERSATION ON STUDENT FOOD INSECURITY

This week, Impact Project held its second strategic meeting with the Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty, deepening a growing partnership around food insecurity among college students both in the United States and across Africa.

BUILDING A GLOBAL FRAMEWORK FOR ACTION

Several important directions emerged from the meeting as both organizations explored practical pathways toward long-term collaboration and measurable impact. The partnership discussions focused on:

Dr. Ejike Okpa specifically identified the University of Ibadan as a potential sister institution to pilot future collaborative initiatives and deepen academic engagement across both regions.

A SHARED VISION FOR STUDENT SUPPORT

The broader vision remains clear and consistent: developing a sustainable platform that addresses hunger and poverty through collaborative research, advocacy, and institutional partnerships between Africa and the United States — with college students placed at the center of the mission. Impact Project believes that meaningful change requires both local action and international cooperation. This growing partnership with Baylor Collaborative represents a major step toward creating long-term systems of support for students facing food insecurity and economic hardship. Looking ahead, Aliyu Tijani (MPH, CHES), Founder of Impact Project, will engage more directly with Baylor Collaborative this summer as the organization transitions from advocacy into action-oriented implementation.

GRATITUDE TO OUR PARTNERS AND SUPPORTERS

Impact Project expresses sincere gratitude to Dr. Jeremy Everett, Executive Director of the Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty, for his openness, mentorship, and commitment to collaborative impact. Special appreciation is also extended to Dr. Ejike Okpa for his time, insight, and dedication to advancing meaningful global partnerships that prioritize student well-being and sustainable change. Together, these conversations are laying the foundation for impactful solutions that will support students, strengthen institutions, and address food insecurity on a broader international scale.
